Are your snorkels, ‘dry-snorkels’?

Our snorkels would be considered ‘semi-dry.’ Semi-dry snorkels have a splash guard at the top (rather than a stopper) and a purge valve on the mouthpiece. They will fill with water if you dive down, but they should stay dryer than a basic snorkel.
